What does a scuba diving course in Gozo look like?

Our scuba diving course in Gozo consists of thre parts: diving knowlege, practical exercises in shallow water and dives in open water.

Knowledge

The knowledge part is based on an accessible digital manual that you can read on your computer or in an app on your mobile phone. We can make it available to you even before you arrive, to give you more time to process the knowledge.

Each chapter of the manual ends with review questions to help you find out if you understand everything. In addition, you also have our instructors to discuss the most important issues with you and clarify any doubts. Finally, you still have to take an exam, but for those who have read the manual, this is usually just a formality.

Practice

Shallow water exercises

The practical part consists of 6 classes in shallow water, in one of our bays. There you will learn the most important diving skills and practice them, so they become your second nature. After each of the practical parts, if the remaining air permits, we will also take you on a short dive to help you consolidate your newly acquired skills.

Open water dives

Once you have learned all the required skills in shallow water, we will move a little deeper – 10 to 12m. There we will focus on using these skills in practice, during dives, and practice some basic emergency scenarios. All this is done to teach you to dive well and safely.

In the last two days we will focus on dives up to 18m and try to show you how beautiful our island is underwater. We hope you’ll love diving as much as we do, and once you’ve completed your scuba diving course in Gozo, you’ll keep diving.
